Children & Youth:

Our youth are the building blocks of the future of our church and many opportunities for their spiritual growth are provided for in a fun and encouraging manner.

Sunday School – our children ages preschool through 6th grade spend the first ten minutes of service in the sanctuary and then are excused to Sunday School. They meet as a group for announcements and songs and then proceed to separate classrooms according to their age. A typical Sunday school class is composed of a Bible lesson, a craft, and a game or snack if time permits. The current curriculum is Gospel Light which describes itself as “A successful Jesus-centered ministry starts with a comprehensive plan—a plan that builds year upon year from birth through preteen with a proven scope & sequence and age-appropriate lessons. Couple that with our deep rooted passion to bring God’s Word to kids in fun, easy-to-learn ways, based on a strong foundation in the Bible that gives kids godly values they can carry with them throughout their lives” During the course of the Sunday School year our children also put on a Christmas program, make cards for local veterans, and perform songs for the congregation. All children are welcome in Sunday School and can start anytime during the school year, September through May.

Every effort shall be made by the Superintendent and the Committee to choose curricula that give meaning to life experiences and Scriptures. The goal of the Church’s educational program shall not be blind indoctrination, but to lead the students to a complete understanding of the Holy Scriptures, specifically the gospel including but not limited to: who God is, man’s sin problem, God’s solution through Christ’s death and resurrection, our responsibility to accept Christ and live for him on earth now, and our hope of a future with God in Heaven. – Philosophy and Approach, Christian Education Committee, Board of Deacons, Kawkawlin Community Church Articles of Association
